An M7.2 magnitude earthquake occurred tonight in Yaracuy, Venezuela. Detected globally. NOAA has issued a Tsunami warning.
A 7.2-magnitude earthquake occurred tonight in Yaracuy, Venezuela, 28 km northwest of Montalbán.
It was also felt in Caracas. I hadn't even finished arriving at the other side of the planet when another 6.9-magnitude earthquake struck Honshu, Japan.
The tsunami warning was lifted after approximately one hour.
Initially rated as 7.1 and later upgraded to 7.2, the USGS shows a second earthquake of 7.5: https://earthquake.usgs.gov/earthquakes/eventpage/us6000t7zp/executive. We are awaiting further news.
