M2.2 - M2.2 Earthquake in Santa Coloma de Farners.

M2.2 Earthquake in Santa Coloma de Farners.
Reading time: Less than a minute

Earthquakes in this area are normal. They originate from an ancient magmatic structure that started in the volcanic zone of La Garrotxa and vertically crosses this area of Catalonia until reaching the Mediterranean Sea area, approximately where Lloret de Mar is located.

The thermal waters in Santa Coloma de Farners are well known, still originating from these ancient magmatic zones that remain active today. This does not mean that any volcano will appear, but they are directly related to the magmatic zone to this day.
