An earthquake of magnitude 2.6 took place this afternoon off the Catalan Coast, corresponding to the diagonal fault that crosses the eastern coastal area of Catalonia and ends about 35 km off the Catalan Coast.

In this area, the diagonal fault to the east of Catalonia is known to have caused this earthquake.

The same area has experienced several earthquakes, including one of magnitude 3.5 on the Richter scale according to the Institut Cartogràfic i Geològic de Catalunya (ICGC), and 3.7 according to the Instituto Geográfico Nacional (IGN), on May 29, 2025.
